The Advanced Infrastructure Architect –  at Tallgrass engages to evaluate client infrastructures and develops optimal architectures and solutions to address business and technology needs.  This Architect is able to create and document designs, configurations, and prepares and delivers projects to optimize performance, availability and stability.  In addition, this person can lead assessments, deployments, migrations and upgrades.  The Advanced Infrastructure Architect also provides knowledge transfer to internal team members, client technical staff as well as present briefings to client management.

Typical Role/Responsiblities

  • Evaluates client infrastructures, identify problems and areas for improvement and develop optimal solutions to address the identified client needs
  • Documents designs, configurations and project results
  • Provides hand-on delivery of development, testing and production deployments
  • Participates in assessments, understanding network, application and database components
  • Executes engagements independently or as a part of a team (Tallgrass and Client participants)
  • Addresses engagement requirements with minimal need to escalate to additional resources
  • Provides a consultative approach to develop, present and explain the value of the proposed infrastructure solutions
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of technical and administrative duties in overall enterprise solution assessment, design, validation, development and delivery

Typical Required Skills

  • The Architect will have broad and deep technical knowledge to architect solutions by mapping a client's business requirements to an end-to-end technology solution
  • The Architect will possess an effective knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix), how they can be configured to delivered for effective performance, database technologies (SQL Server and Oracle), virtualization technologies and networking (LAN, SAN and WAN), Design, development and administration of Active Directory and Performance monitoring, performance improvement and environment tuning
  • Tallgrass Architects have a mix of advanced technology and practical operational acumen, and possess effective analytical and communications skills, as well as the ability to resolve complex technical problems

Typical Technical Certifications include:

  • Microsoft Certified Professional
  • VMWare Certified Professional
  • Security Certifications
  • Content Management experience (SharePoint, Oracle, Open Text, etc.)


  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline


  • 8 or more years experience
